The American Heart Association: COVID-19 response

The American Heart Association is continuously working to reduce the impact of the coronavirus.

Here are some of the ways they are trying to help:

  • investing in research on the cardiovascular implications of COVID-19
  • helping accelerate antiviral drugs to combat COVID-19
  • leveraging science and relationships to understand how the coronavirus affects at-risk patients
  • meeting the needs of health care workers dealing with the coronavirus
  • adding COVID-19 data elements and registry the platform Get With The Guidelines
  • teaching hospitals and communities how to safely and effectively administer CPR during COVID-19
  • advocating for policies that ensure families have access to care, protect frontline health workers and help charitable organizations continue their work
  • working to prioritize the greatest needs of communities, including access to care, financial support, proper nourishment and physical activity
  • working with parents and teachers to keep kids healthy and active
  • providing businesses with essential resources to help their employees stay healthy and active
  • meeting people where they are with the resources they need
